Marvel have announced that Steven S. DeKnight is the new showrunner of their Netflix-based Daredevil television series.
DeKnight takes over from Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods), who is stepping back to an executive producer role.
Primarily known for being the creator of Starz Spartacus series, DeKnight also worked on Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Smallville and Dollhouse.
There’s been a little conjecture over exactly why Goddard is stepping back, but we believe it is likely due to his involvement in Sony’s upcoming Sinister Six film that is taking up too much of his time.
Daredevil will be the first in a run of series hosted by Netflix for Marvel, and it should hit our screens sometime in 2015.
