UPDATE from 29th May:

It’s been a little over two weeks since we originally posted this. In that time there has been a handful of additional renewals and cancellations. Head to the bottom  of the page for an expanded list. New entries are listed in UNDERLINED EMBOLDENED CAPS.

US Television networks are well on their way through announcing which shows they have extended, and those that have been cancelled. There were some interesting developments overnight, even if they weren’t entirely massive shocks.

On the ‘sadly canned’ front, we see Agent Carter. Despite being pretty excellent, it was surprising that it managed a second season after such low ratings. A repeat performance has led to the end of the adventures of Peggy Carter.

Also departing is Castle. The Nathan Fillion vehicle has been ended after a steadily declining viewership reached a new low in season eight. What’s odd about this one is how recently ABC publically fired Stana Katic and Tamala Jones, while signing the remainder of the principle cast for another season. Strange.

On a more positive note, Supergirl has been saved – though there will be some concessions. It will be moving networks and filming location (to Vancouver), and may have to cut some of its cast due to budgetary constraints. Thought its ratings weren’t good enough for CBS, The CW have thankfully stepped in, and the show will be incorporate it into its ever expanding collection of DC TV franchises (it already has Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow – all of which have been renewed). Whether this leads to greater crossover between the shows is anyone’s guess, but at least we’re getting another 22 episodes of a very promising show.

Finally, here’s a quick fire round-up of where some of the shows currently stand:
